Chuck & Gomez
This is Chuck & Gomez.
They are 'Little Uglys' made by Ugly Dolls that I got here in Sequim from The Cottage Company, 129 S 2nd Avenue, Sequim, WA 98382.
Chuck's real name is Chuckanucka, but he likes to be called Chuck. He live's at my sister Amanda's house in Sequim.
Gomez lives with me and Fred in Sequim.
Gomez is really an 'Ugly Worm', and he has a comb over and is named after Gomez from the Addams Family.
Chuck and Gomez are cousins, actually, and they get along pretty well. I just knitted a blue scarf for Gomez... I'll have to take his picture and show you. It came out really nice.
At least it's not sticking...
Just so you know, I'm working on setting up Picasa with some of my Sequim photos, so I'll get it on my blog as soon as I can.
I recently took a yarn spinning class from Amelia Garripoli, who's an excellent (meaning patient and knowledgeable) teacher and fiber expert, located in Port Angeles, WA. Her website is The Bellwether and features spinning products such as hand spindles and spinning wheels, knitting books and patterns, and of course, hand spun yarns and fiber.
I took her class at A Dropped Stitch, our local yarn store here in Sequim.
I enjoyed my class, and I'm not sure if I'll end up with a spinning wheel or not... I really just wanted to learn the whole process from sheep to yarn, and so now I know. I do like spinning, and I really like using a drum carder. Hand carding and combing, not so much fun to me.
Sequim has a large fiber arts community, with a local knitter's guild and a spinning and weaving guild.
There's plenty to keep you busy indoors when the weather's not so good here, uhh..., I mean, when it's something other than 'sunny' in Sequim. It's a sick little joke... don't ask.
